Apex Karate Performance was founded by Michael Hagen as a means to provide specialized coaching to athletes who wish to compete at the highest levels of Elite Kata competition.

Coach Hagen has been involved in Karate since 1993, training in Shito Ryu, Shima-Ha Shorin Ryu and Yamanni Ryu Bojutsu. Coach Hagen is a former USA Karate National Team member and Pan American Karate Federation medalist.

Coach Hagen’s accomplishments include:

• Yondan (4th Degree Black Belt)-World Shito Ryu Karate-Do Federation
• Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) – certified by the Japan Karate-Do Federation
• USA National Karate-Do Federation Level 3 Certified Coach
• USA National Team Member – Team Kata
• Pan American Championships Bronze Medalist – Team Kata, Havana, Cuba
• WKF World Championships – Team Kata – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
• Nagoya Gakuin University Karate-Do Club member

Jonathan Seavey is the owner of Kokorozashi Dojo in Matthews, VA and is actively traveling and competing in WKF Series A events around the world.
